A Small Footprint with a Large Impact.
At Stegmann, responsible sourcing is central to our ethos. Much of our wool is locally gathered from the Tyrolean Alps and Western Europe, supporting small farmers and preserving rare sheep breeds via our Species Preservation Initiative. For non-local sources, we prioritize responsibly sourced Merino blends.
Each wool upper is handcrafted in our Austrian facility, ensuring consistent quality. Our cork footbeds are made from renewable cork bark sustainably harvested in Portugal. Similarly, our leather shoes, boots, and sandals are responsibly crafted in Portugal.
Finished in the USA: To complete the wool uppers, we add cork or poly soles right here in the United States. This not only lets us check for quality but also supports jobs in the USA, which is important to us.
